Paracord (Parachute cord) is a lightweight nylon kernmantle rope, originally used in US parachutes during World War II. Paracord's tensile strength, durability, smooth texture, Vibrant color range, and elasticity has long been appreciated by outdoor sports enthusiasts.

Jewelry designers have recently taken notice of the possibilities Paracord has to offer. "Survival bracelets" and other types of  Paracord  Jewelry are popping up in shops and boutiques around the country.
